SC Johnson CEO: Compliant filed by step daugther that he touched her

SC Johnson has been listed on a criminal compliant which alleges that he participated in illegal sexually based activity with his step daugther. What is the world coming to, when you can't even trust your step dad? I know that this is a serious matter but don't you think that the news is just a little obsessed with sex-related crimes. I also think that, if it is discovered that he did what the compliant says he should pay the price for those actions. As American's, we need to take a look at what it is in our society that continues to produce this kinds of crimes.
First, is there really an increase or has the media created this epidemic? When you look at history these types of crimes have been around since the beginning of time. In the earlier part of the ninetieth century, many men had sex with children that were under the age of 17. (just ask your grandfather how old was grandmother when he married her). Why is it that women 100 years ago were able to carry on relationships with older men and now they aren't? Have humans change or did the society around them change.
The idea that children are to naive at the age of 15 to consent to a sexual relationship is a difficult position to take because 15 years old today are much more mature than 15 year old of yesteryear.
Let me say that it is wrong to attempt to have sex or make sexual overtures to anyone against their will. This appears to be the compliant in the SC Johnson case. If he did do this shame on him. The girl stated that he had a "touching" problem. The authorities stated that if he is found guilty he could get up to 40 years in prison. For touching, really
Tell me what you think.

Liz Taylor in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof

This week America got some really bad news. Elizabeth Taylor passed away. She had lived a long and productive life and now it was time for us to say good bye to her. She will certainly be missed. She was a leading lady that could bring it, on and off the big screen. She was a total package, both sexy and smart. There hasn't been a leading lady like her since. She grew up during a time when the world was innocent. It was a time when people went to movies and got entertained and enlightened.
I fell in love with Ms. Taylor when I saw the movie Cat On A Hot Tin Roof. This movie was filmed at a time when Hollywood knew how to write and produce movies with substance. Unlike today, where movies are pumped out on assembly lines. Most of the movies today are only repeats of previous movies, previous movies that wasn't that good to start with. I miss those old movies, the ones you could curl up on the couch with on a good rainy weekend with a bowl of popcorn and just be lazy all day.
One of the things that made Cat On A Hot Tin Roof a hit, was the fact that it had an all star cast. I love the movie because the script was so well written. This movies is full of metaphors. For instance, the phone click and the click that is inside Brick's head. The one that he had to hear before he could stop drinking for the day. (Great writing). I do not think that today's movies writers have the talent to write something that deep. Its either that or they feel that today's audience, isn't intelligent enough to comprehend intellectual movies.
Wow. I miss back when...

My Dog Coco

It is so hard to find a dog sitter when you travel out of town. Recently I went on a mini vacation to Miami to see my son and needed a dog sitter. The sitter that I normally use could not sit for my dog, so I had to settle with letting a co-worker take care of him (it was the 9th hour and the pickings were few). I was very grateful that she helped me out because I don't know what I would have done if she hadn't. My trip was only for a week and I didn't think that it wouldn't be a problem. Boy, was I wrong.
After a few days in Florida, I decided to call and check on my best friend. The woman that was assigned to take care of him told me that he was dead and buried in the back yard. I was shocked..
She later told me that she was just kidding but she really wanted to kill my dog because he was pissing all over her house. (This is something that he never does at home) I don't know if this was a behavior he was exhibiting so I was there but I instructed her to tell him to stop.
She went on to tell me that he was growling at her boyfriend and that he hadn't eaten a thing since I dropped him off. I began to worry because I don't want my dog to be a burden for anyone.
When I arrived back in town, I picked up my dog and he ate for over 30mins. I gave him a bath and he sleep all night. I have learned my lesson, next time I will take him to a kennel.

Bring Up Boys: Review

bA couple of years ago, I read the book Bringing up Boys by Dr. James Dobson. I was deeply committed to church at the time and reading spiritual books was one of the ways I fought off "demons". I did not have any children and thought that expanding my knowledge on the subject would be a big plus. This book surprisingly did that and more.
This book helped me to understand, the importance of males in society. It also offered tips on how to raise a boy into a healthy and productive man. In this book, Dr. Dobson answers the age old question: Can a woman effective raise a boy into a male?
I recommend this book to anyone who is raising children, been a child or just love the process of learning...
